Our Lady at St. Germaine
-St. Catherine's Domestic Violence Awareness Ministry

The Our Lady at St. Germaine-St. Catherine’s Domestic Violence Awareness Ministry was formed approximately 4 years ago and our primary mission is to create awareness in our parish communities about the signs of domestic violence, places to go for help and development of prevention strategies in the communities we live in.  We partner with and support the providers of services to domestic violence victims.

Throughout the calendar year and especially during the month of October we sponsor events that are educational and informative.  While we provide no clinical services to domestic violence victims, we are available for consultation and identification of community resources for victims and our families.  Because we are a small ministries we work with other parish organizations to spread our message and help us do our work. We have partnered with:
  • Messengers of Mercy
  • The Athletic Board
  • The Women's Club
  • Religious Education & Formation Program

We are always looking for others in our parishes who would like to join us in our work or who may interested in learning more about the problems that Domestic Violence causes in the world we live in.  If you are interested in joining us or need a consultation please feel free to contact John Chesniak.

Note if you are a victim of domestic violence and need immediate assistance to protect yourself please call 911.
